Vaughan Piano Studio

New Lesson cancellation policy

When a situation arises and the student cannot make it to the studio for inclement weather, doesn’t have a ride, or isn’t feeling well, please notify me and I will have their lesson via video. I will initiate the call at the time of the lesson. Moving forward, make-up lessons will not be offered for lesson cancellations but video lessons should be used as an alternative during the scheduled lesson time. I’m thrilled to offer online lessons moving forward as it will enable more students to attend a lesson online when they have circumstances when they cannot make it to the studio in-person. Online lessons are an amazing alternative and a highly effective way to have a lesson with me!

Here is what the student should have ready for their online lesson

  • Download Zoom video calling software to computer laptop or tablet. Computer screens are much more preferred.  Phones screens are small and difficult for the student to see when I am demonstrating.
  • A stool or table next to the piano for placing their device.  Check out these homemade stands for tablets or phones. https://craftboard.app/diy-phone-stands/
  • Lesson materials (I may request picture or scans of the pieces I do not have)
  • Please make the environment around the lesson as quiet as possible.
  • That’s it.

Example of phone propped with stickie pad behind.  This is when all else fails.

Weekly 30 minute lessons include technique, music theory, lesson materials and repertoire. Additional computer music programs are used as needed. Lessons are taught on a year round schedule.  I teach lessons throughout the summer. During the summer months, it might be more convenient to have an hour lesson twice a month instead of coming weekly

Tuition:

Tuition is $125 each month.  The fee for supplies is $30 per student each year and due in September or with the first month of lessons.

There is no additional charge for five lessons in one month.  I do not teach the week of Christmas.  There will be no adjustment to the monthly tuition in December.
